Our sashimi-quality albacore

Albacore tuna, also known as longfin tuna, range in Pacific waters from New Zealand to Canada. Albacore generally school in groups that are uniform in size, which makes it easy for pole and line fishermen like McAdam’s Fish to target albacore of a specific age without harvesting fish that are immature or too large. These young fish, usually around 3-5 years old, are found in the cold waters off the Pacific Northwest and New Zealand. These fisheries are carefully managed to prevent overfishing and are MSC certified. Learn more about MSC certification.

Because each fish is caught one at a time by hand and processed onboard, our albacore is exceptionally high in quality and flavor and is prized by sushi chefs around the world. In addition to being MSC Certified, our pole and line-caught albacore is rated ‘Best Choice’ by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch.
